Its ample and austere front, with an unfinished tower and the other one twisted (by the devil according to the legend). The front towers completely over the small plaza, dyeing it with its ochre under the morning sun.

Other current characteristics of interest
The great vault of its central ship, which seems as if carved inside a huge rock. The lateral chapels, in a semidarkness that creates an environment of concentration contrast with the luminosity in the outside as well as the communication between the chapels through the space of the central ship. The reduced arch of the choir, linked to another local legend (will fall Friday during Holy Week). Its main altar in marble; the beautiful carved Saint Christ of the expiration and his altar in stucco; the great amount of tombstones paving the main altar’s floor; the visual relationship of the Temple with the cloister, sifted by the wooden balusters; the small chapel of Nuestra Señora de la Animas.

Dominant Architectural Style
Austere Spanish Renaissance with reminiscences of the late romantic period.

Hypothesis on the original characteristics of the site
